The die is the mold of the tablet press for pressing the tablet. The working end faces of the upper and lower punches form the surface shape of the tablet, and the aperture of the middle die is the diameter of the tablet. The die is the main working element of the tablet press. Usually, a pair of dies includes three parts: the upper punch, the middle die, and the lower punch. The structures of the upper and lower punches are similar, and the diameters of the punches are also equal. The die holes of the die are matched and can freely slide up and down in the middle die hole, but there is no gap that can leak the powder. According to the shape of the die structure, it can be divided into circular and special-shaped (including polygonal and curved). The shape of the end surface of the punch is flat, hypotenuse, shallow concave, deep concave and comprehensive, etc. The flat and hypotenuse punches are used to press flat cylindrical tablets, and the shallow concave is used for pressing The biconvex tablet, the deep concave shape is mainly used to compress the core of the coated tablet, and the composite shape is mainly used to compress the special-shaped tablet. In order to facilitate the identification and taking of medicines, the name of the medicine, dosage and vertical and horizontal lines can also be engraved on the end face of the die. To compress tablets of different doses, dies of suitable size should be selected. The working process of the tablet press can be divided into the following steps: 1. The punch part of the lower punch (its working position is upward) extends from the lower end of the middle die hole into the middle die hole to seal the bottom of the middle die hole; 2. Use The feeder fills the drug into the middle die hole; 3. The punch part of the upper punch (its working position faces down) falls from the upper end of the middle die hole into the middle die hole, and moves down a certain distance to press the medicine powder into tablets; 4. The upper punch is lifted out of the hole. The lower punch rises to push the tablet out of the middle die hole, completing a tablet pressing process; 5. The lower punch falls to the original position, ready for the next filling.
