When the air-conditioning system is running in winter, because the accumulated water in the surface cooler in the air conditioner cannot be removed in time, and the air humidity on the outer surface of the water-cooled surface cooler is lower than 0, the accumulated water in the air conditioner freezes, so that the The heat pipe of the surface cooler, especially the elbow of the heat pipe, is frozen and leaked. As a result, the normal operation of the air-conditioning system is affected, and the repair and replacement of the surface cooler damaged by freezing increases the operating cost of the air-conditioning system.
There are several ways to avoid freezing and cracking of the water-cooled surface cooler in the air conditioner during winter operation:
3.1. In areas with low temperature in winter, a fresh air preheater should be installed in the air conditioning system to increase the temperature of the fresh air entering the air conditioner to above 0°C (generally, the temperature of the fresh air can be raised to about +5°C).
3.2. For air-conditioning systems with water-cooled surface coolers, air heaters, and air humidifiers, if the dew point of the system during summer operation is the point of supply air, the heater can be placed before the surface cooler. In this way, during the operation of the air in winter, the air below 0 °C will first be heated up by the heater to be higher than 0 °C, so that the water-cooled surface cooler will not be frozen again. This method is especially suitable for the DC air-conditioning system, which neither increases the investment of the equipment nor affects the summer operation of the system.
