Introduction of die structure of tablet press
The die is a tablet press die for pressing pharmaceutical tablets. The working end faces of the upper and lower punches form the surface shape of the tablet, and the aperture of the middle mold is the diameter of the tablet.
Punch is the main working element of the press. Usually, a set of punch consists of three parts: upper punch, middle die, and lower punch. The upper and lower punch has a similar structure, and the punch diameter is equal. The punch diameter of the upper and lower punch is matched with the die hole of the middle mold and can slide freely in the middle mold hole, but no gap can leak powder.
According to the shape of the die structure, it can be divided into circular and irregular shapes (including polygons and curved lines). The shape of the punch end face is plane, beveled, shallowly concave, deep concave, and comprehensive. The flat and inclined edge punch is used to press flat cylinder tablets, the shallow concave is used to press double convex tablets, the deep concave is mainly used to press coated tablets chips, and the comprehensive shape is mainly used for pressing special-shaped tablets. To identify and take drugs, the name, dosage, and vertical and horizontal lines of drugs can also be engraved on the end face of the die. When pressing different dosage tablets, the appropriate size of the die should be selected.
