Water is the most widely used process raw material in the pharmaceutical industry. It is used as the component, solvent and diluent of drugs. GMP stipulates that the pharmaceutical water shall at least be drinking water. In actual production, according to the purpose, the water for pharmaceutical use can be divided into three categories: drinking water: generally the tap water or deep well water supplied by the water company, also known as raw water. The quality of drinking water must comply with the national standard hygienic standard for drinking water gb5749-85. According to the provisions of Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010, drinking water cannot be directly used as preparation or test water of preparations. Purified water: it is pharmaceutical water prepared from raw water by distillation, ion exchange, reverse osmosis or other suitable methods, and does not contain any additives. The purified water prepared by non heat treatment such as ion exchange method, reverse osmosis method and ultrafiltration method is generally also called deionized water. Water for injection: purified water is used as raw water, distilled by a specially designed distiller, condensed and cooled, and then prepared by membrane filtration. Sterilized water for injection is the water prepared by water for injection according to the injection production process.
